I just got back from Peru and one of the highlights of my trip was a trek up an old Incan Trail to the top of Machu Picchu Mountain, which is 10,047 ft above sea level. It is a very challenging hike because you need to hike 2,100 ft from the base of Machu Picchu, up a very steep and constant ascent. My guide couldn’t believe I hadn’t trained for the trek or worked with a personal trainer to get me in shape to make it to the top.  I couldn’t never have done it without you.

When I first signed up for a Suspend class; I was terrified. I wasn’t sure I would be able to complete the class and didn’t know if I was strong enough. Lencola walked me through step by step and encouraged me and corrected me. It was so much fun challenging myself. With Lencola’s direction I finished the class feeling happy and accomplished. Pilates gives me a rush of endorphins, confidence and makes me stronger with each class I take. I love to mix up the week with a springboard class, a Suspend class, and a traditional reformer class. Taking a class at Club Pilates is the best part of my day!

I have back problems and had recently had my hip replaced.  Lencola took the time to review my condition, worked with me individually and then graduated me to one of her group classes. I was so impressed with the careful and thoughtful program she designed for me.

 

Over the 2 years that I worked with her, my posture improved, my strength and endurance increased and even my feet which are flat improved with a small arch!   I love Pilates, and highly recommend Lencola as an instructor!

I did pilates for several years, a long time ago, knowing that my hyper-mobile body loved it!  For no particular reason, I stopped. Around the time I was 70-71 I realized I had lost 1 1/2 inches of my height 5 and was diagnosed with osteopenia, degenerative discs and arthritis, so started having regular bone scans.  A little over a year ago, I decided to try pilates again to see if it would be helpful and also as a challenge to see if I could still do it at my age. I was a little shaky when I started out, remembering the various exercises, but my body didn’t necessarily want to move that way.  I’ve slowly worked my way up to the 1.5 class, having developed much better balance and control. As I approach my 75th birthday in July, I’m thrilled to report that I’ve gained a full inch of height and my bone scans are improving with no meds. And my body feels years younger. Lencola has been very encouraging and helpful.  I LOVE pilates!!!
